If you’ve been thinking about purchasing a new compact SUV, now might be the year to do it. Learn more about some of the great new features you’ll find on the 2019 Renegade so you can decide whether it’s right for you.

  1. Redesigned Exterior

When the 2019 Jeep Renegade hits the market, the first change you’ll notice is an updated exterior style. The Renegade will have a redesigned grille with stylish slots. For a more modern look, the SUV will also showcase a new lower front fascia. As you go up in trim levels, the available LED fog lamps, headlights, and taillights give the Jeep a more modern look. Also, the Renegade will sport available 19-inch rims for the first time, and you’ll have a few new exterior colors from which to choose.

  1. Additional Safety Features

Along with its sleek new look, the 2019 Jeep Renegade is getting some additional safety features. Every model in the lineup will now come standard with intelligent speed assist and lane-departure warning. Additionally, an available Advanced Tech Group package will include self-parking technology and front parking sensors.

  1. More Engine Options

The engine options on the 2019 Renegade get a nice boost that you’re sure to appreciate. Gone is the turbocharged 1.4-liter engine that was once standard on the SUV, and in its place is a turbocharged 1.3-liter engine that generates 177 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque — up a bit from previous years. The new engine will be standard on the Limited and Trailhawk trims, but it will also be available as an upgrade on the Sport and Latitude.

The Renegade’s naturally aspirated 2.4-liter engine, which was once only optional, will now be standard on the Sport and Latitude trims, offering the same 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque.

While some drivers will be disappointed to learn the six-speed manual transmission is no longer an option in the lineup, others will be pleased to know every Renegade model will now include a convenient and efficient nine-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, both engines will come standard with front-wheel-drive capabilities. If you’re interested in all-wheel drive, it’s an optional feature on the Renegade Trailhawk.

  1. Updated Interior

Inside the new Jeep Renegade, you’ll see some small tweaks to make the cabin more comfortable. The center console, a few storage compartments, and the cup holders get a slight redesign, providing more space and better functionality. For your convenience, you’ll also discover a new smartphone holder. Plus, to make it easier to plug in your phone, designers have repositioned the extra USB port behind the center armrest.

  1. New Technology

No upgrade is complete without some new technology, and the 2019 refresh of the Jeep Renegade is no exception. Depending on which model you choose, the Renegade will include the latest-generation Uconnect system. Additionally, touch-screen display sizes will measure 5 inches, 7 inches, or 8.4 inches.

If you’ve been thinking about getting behind the wheel of a Jeep Renegade, choose the new 2019 model to enjoy all the latest advancements and upgrades.
